At our monastery, we place a great deal of importance on staying current with the rest of the world. Our spiritual leader, Kyabje Rinpoche, has always stressed the significance of learning English, particularly in today’s fast-paced world where communication is key. As monks, we have a responsibility to share our teachings with others, and mastering English is essential for connecting with individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds. To this end, we dedicate an hour each weekday to English language instruction. Our English lessons are comprehensive and customized to meet the specific needs of monks. We cover various topics ranging from basic grammar to everyday conversations, all to improve our ability to communicate with others. Learning English is not only important for our role as monks, but it also opens up many opportunities for personal growth and exploration. It allows us to read and understand literature from around the world, watch movies and TV shows without subtitles, and even travel to new places with greater ease. Overall, our commitment to improving our English language skills is a reflection of our dedication to growth and learning. As we continue to expand our knowledge and understanding of the world, we are better equipped to share our teachings with others and make a positive impact on the world around us.
