Namkhai Nyingpo was a revered bhikshu who dedicated his life to the practice of fierce yogic discipline in the grand cave of Lhodrak Kharchu. His unwavering devotion led him to achieve Siddhi and receive teachings and empowerment from an Indian Master named Humkara. Through his divination skills, he saved King Trisong Deutsen from illness, earning him respect and admiration from many. However, his good deeds did not go unnoticed by the Queen and Bon ministers, who exiled him from his homeland. Despite being forced to leave, Namkhai Nyingpo remained steadfast in his devotion and had a vision of a Wisdom Dakini, which led him to disguise himself as a mendicant to locate her. During his lifetime, he composed many tunes attributed to various puja incantations, which continue to inspire and move people to this day. He also performed miraculous feats, including holding the sun still, displaying his attainment beyond physics. Namkhai Nyingpo’s aspirations for the benefit of all beings continue to inspire us today. His journey serves as a reminder that dedication, perseverance, and faith can lead us to achieve great things in life, regardless of the challenges we may face.

Rigzin Lobzang Lhachog, also known as the First Namkhai Nyingpo, was a prominent figure in the Buddhist community. He was one of seven Secret Holders of the Three Secrets, which are considered to be some of the most precious teachings of Buddhism. These secrets are said to be so profound that they can only be transmitted by word of mouth from a qualified teacher to a disciple who has been deemed worthy. Rigzin Lobzang Lhachog arrived at the main seat, Lhodrak Kharchu Monastery, where he received teachings and bhikshu vows. He was also empowered with Kagye – The Eight Pronouncements, which are a set of teachings that are meant to help practitioners develop wisdom and compassion. Under the guidance of his Guru, Rigzin Lobzang Lhachog received complete instruction on Thuje Chenpo’s Khorwa Ingdröl – Liberation From Samsara and Beyond, which is considered to be one of the most profound teachings in Buddhism. This teaching is based upon Avalokiteshvara, Naro’s Khachod Neljorma – Naropa’s Celestial Realm of the Yoginis, and many Mahasandhi teachings. These teachings helped him develop a deep understanding of the nature of reality and the path to liberation. Rigzin Lobzang Lhachog meditated in various places faced challenges and had visions with the help of multiple deities. His strict meditation practice helped many beings achieve liberation. He was known for his compassion towards all beings and his ability to help others overcome their suffering. Rigzin Lobzang Lhachog passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of wisdom and compassion. Many relics were found after his cremation, which is considered a testament to his spiritual attainment. His teachings continue to inspire practitioners around the world to this day.
